The LF-TD Profinet is a transmitter for permanent installation that delivers the relative humidity and temperature of air straight into the machine control. What separates it from the other models of the series is that it talks to the controller over Profinet - no analogue inputs have to be occupied and no communication module added.
The sensors pick up even small swings in humidity and the direction they are taking, so it is possible to react before the parameter leaves tolerance rather than after the fact.
The head is joined to the electronics housing by a cable 0.25 m long. That looks like a detail but it decides the mounting: the electronics can hang where they are accessible, while the probe itself goes into a place that is tight, hot or hard to reach - a duct, a drying chamber, a machine enclosure. The probe tube is stainless steel, Ø12 x 125 mm.
Besides the Profinet interface the transmitter also delivers humidity and temperature as 4-20 mA current signals, so it can be wired into older automation in parallel.
The whole series shares the same electronics housing, 70 x 32 x 120 mm, and the same 12 to 29 VDC supply. The models differ in the permitted temperature at the measuring point and in the way the data is passed on - the table is in the LF-TD series overview. The LF-TD Profinet is the variant up to +90 °C for installations running on Profinet.
