The smallest whole grain meter in the series

The humimeter FS1.1 fits in the hand and needs a portion of a few dozen grams. It is an instrument for a quick check in the field and at goods intake: whether the crop is ripe for harvest and whether a batch can be stored without further drying.

How a measurement is taken

The portion weight is given in the name of every curve and runs from thirty to sixty-odd grams - that is what removes the influence of bulk density on the result. The digital scale and the 0.25 litre cup are included for exactly that.

  1. Select the curve matching the product.
  2. Put the empty cup on the scale and zero the reading.
  3. Weigh out the portion whose weight is given in the name of the curve, within ±1.0 g.
  4. Tip the grain into the measuring chamber slowly and evenly.
  5. Read the water content and the sample temperature. The hold function freezes the reading until the next press of the button.

Reference methods

Meters in this series are adjusted against oven method results, separately for each group of products: EN ISO 6540 for maize, EN ISO 712 for cereals, EN ISO 665 for oilseeds and EN ISO 24557 for pulses. A reading can therefore be compared with a laboratory result, and a small deviation taken out with the offset function.

Scope of delivery

A case is not part of the set - the stronger model in the series has one included.

FS1.1 or FS1

Both meters share the same housing, the same weight and the same list of products. The humimeter FS1 measures over a wider range of 5 to 30 %, with a resolution of 0.1 % and an accuracy of ±0.7 %, and comes with a case. The FS1.1 measures 5 to 25 % with the same resolution of 0.1 % and an accuracy of ±0.9 %. Where the job is purely a pre-harvest check, the FS1.1 is entirely enough.
