The humimeter RM1 is a handheld meter with a one metre insertion probe for recovered materials. The probe goes straight into a pile, a bunker or a container - with no sample taken, no weighing and no waiting for a laboratory result. It is used by waste-to-energy plants, sorting facilities, material recovery plants and producers of refuse derived fuel.

For a material outside this list the manufacturer creates a characteristic curve of its own from a sample you send in (art. no. 11217).

How a measurement is taken

After switching the meter on you select the curve matching the material and push the probe into the layer. The measurement happens at the tip of the probe, so by varying the insertion depth you check different layers of the pile. The display shows the water content and the material temperature at once, and a few readings at different points give an average for the whole batch within minutes.

Results are stored in the device together with the measuring point description - the logger holds 10 000 readings. The optional USB interface (art. no. 12278) moves them to a computer, where the LogMemorizer software archives and exports them, and the portable thermal printer (art. no. 15444) prints the result right at the weighbridge or the bunker.
