The humimeter GE1 is an easy-to-use moisture meter for screed and concrete with a temperature measurement, made for floor layers, construction firms, renovation crews and surveyors. The measurement is non-destructive: the device is held against the surface of the material and the result appears within a few seconds - no drilling, no sampling and no mark left on the floor.
The meter reaches 30 mm deep and needs material at least 30 mm thick. With a thinner layer whatever lies underneath enters the measurement as well, so the result stops describing the floor itself.
The GE1 converts the result into CM screed moisture percent automatically. In the operating manual, however, the manufacturer points out that these are guide values and do not replace a measurement by the CM method.
In practice that means a division of work. The GE1 serves to search the whole surface quickly and point out the wettest places, and the decisive CM measurement is then carried out only where the meter showed a raised value - instead of breaking up the floor at random points. At the acceptance of a floor it is the CM result that counts, but it is the GE1 that decides where that measurement makes sense.

Both meters share the same housing and the same surface measurement to a depth of 30 mm. The difference lies in the range of applications.
The GE1 measures up to 10 % water content and has five curves: screed, screed CM, concrete, anhydrite screed and the digit scale. It is a device for one job - checking the moisture of a floor before a covering is laid.
The humimeter GF2 measures up to 20 % water content, carries more than a dozen curves (aerated concrete, plasterboard, brick and clinker among them), logs up to 10 000 measurements and accepts external probes - air humidity, infrared temperature or a ram-in electrode. That is a meter for the whole building site.
