huminode IoT RH air humidity and temperature monitoring

Continuous monitoring of air humidity and temperature in a warehouse, hall or building

The huminode IoT RH is a wireless sensor that measures relative humidity and air temperature at set intervals and sends the results to a dashboard by itself. Instead of walking the site with a handheld meter, you get a continuous record of the conditions from every point where a sensor stands.

The device suits places where the climate has to be supervised for weeks and months: warehouses and production halls, buildings and historic sites, construction sites and the drying of building elements. The record of the whole period stays in the system, so the run of conditions can be documented, not merely checked on the spot.

How the huminode system works

The system has three parts. The sensors stand at the monitored points and take the measurements. The LoRaWAN gateway receives their data - one gateway serves many sensors, and the manufacturer states a range of up to 10 km depending on the surroundings and the buildings. The dashboard gathers everything in one place: current readings, history, charts and alarm thresholds.

LoRaWAN carries small portions of data over long distances at very low current consumption. That is what lets the sensor run on a built-in lithium battery and need neither a power supply nor signal cabling.

The probe is chosen for the application

The huminode IoT RH works with an air humidity probe or with a ram-in probe for material, so the same sensor supervises the climate of a room or the moisture of a wall, a beam or a structural element. The probe is not part of the delivery and is chosen separately.

The probe can be replaced while the device is running. Sending a probe away for calibration therefore does not interrupt the monitoring - a replacement probe stays at the measuring point.

Mounting and operation

The sensor has mounting brackets and is fixed in a few minutes, with no electrical installation. Once switched on it reports to the gateway by itself and starts sending measurements. In daily use what remains is changing the battery and calibrating the probe periodically.

The manufacturer accepts orders for huminode IoT RH sensors from 5 units upwards.

Scope of delivery

huminode IoT RH base device in a case. The probe is chosen separately, a huminode IoT gateway is needed to receive the data, and a dashboard licence per sensor to view and archive the measurements.

Extended accessories

huminode IoT RH or LF-TD

Both measure air humidity and temperature continuously, but they fit different installations. The huminode IoT RH is battery powered and wireless, so it suits buildings, warehouses and sites with no installation; an order covers a minimum of five units, and a gateway and a dashboard licence are needed to run it. The LF-TD is a wired transmitter powered from the installation and wired straight into a controller or the plant network, and it works where the temperature of the measured medium reaches 180 °C.

For the moisture of the material itself there is the sister sensor of the same system: the huminode IoT LW measures through an electrode driven into timber, a structure or bulk material, and uses the same gateway and the same dashboard.
