Continuous moisture measurement of dry wood chips

The BRC is a built-in transmitter made for dry wood chips - the kind that go into wood gasifiers. It measures continuously, in real time, and delivers the result as a 4-20 mA signal. The system is supplied ready calibrated, so commissioning comes down to mounting and wiring it.

The range of 2 to 30 % water content corresponds to a wood moisture of 2 to 43 % related to dry matter. That is a narrower and lower range than in the other biomass transmitters, and this specialisation is the point of the device: in a gasifier the material has to be dry, and resolution within that band matters more than a wide range.

Extended accessories

BRC or another wood chip transmitter

The BRC is made for dry material up to 30 % water content and comes with a display. The BLC covers sawdust, wood chips and pellets and is the cheaper solution without a display. The HGT-A is mounted directly in the wall of a conveyor and reaches 50 or 60 % water content, while the BLO is an analysing unit with a separate probe, an accuracy of ±2.5 % and a data logger.
