Air humidity and temperature straight into the network - through an RJ45 socket

The LF-TD-E is a digital transmitter for relative air humidity and temperature with an Ethernet interface. The measured values leave the device through an RJ45 socket, so the sensor is plugged into an existing network like any other network device - with no analogue inputs, no 4-20 mA module and no intermediate controller.

The transmitter is made for rooms and processes at temperatures up to 60 °C. Typical places of work:

Powered from a USB port, data over Ethernet

The device is supplied with 5 VDC at 300 mA through a USB mini B socket and sends its data through the RJ45 socket. In practice a USB power supply or a free port in the cabinet and a patch cord are enough - there is no need to run a separate 24 V supply or to occupy analogue inputs on a controller.

Readout and archiving in the HumiSenseWare software

The measurements from the LF-TD-E are read and stored by the HumiSenseWare software: it shows the current trend, keeps a log and allows the data to be exported for further processing. The standard Live Trend licence is art. no. 14711, the data management and logging option art. no. 14712, and the integration package for three additional sensors art. no. 14713.

When a 4-20 mA output is needed

The LF-TD-E delivers its values digitally only. If the measurement is to control a device through the analogue input of a controller, the right choice is the LF-TD 60 with 4-20 mA outputs, which can be extended with an Ethernet interface (art. no. 13738). For a Profinet network there is the LF-TD Profinet.

Factory calibration

The transmitter is calibrated at the factory to ±2 % over the range of 10 to 90 % relative humidity and ±0.3 °C over +10 to +60 °C. A factory calibration certificate with an adjustment report is supplied on request (art. no. 10403), and the sensor can be checked in place with the calibration device for tube probes (art. no. 10006) together with certified ampoules.

Advantages The LF-TD-E needs neither analogue inputs nor a controller - a free socket on a switch and power from a USB port are enough. It is the least expensive way to get a permanent humidity and temperature measurement into the network and into the software.
